Dr. Rizwan Aziz Qazi is Professor of Medicine in the Akbar Niazi Teaching Hospital, Islamabad. He joined this institute after retiring from the government service at Pakistan Institute of Medical Sciences where he worked as Professor and Head, Department of Medicine.
He has 35 years of experience in the field of Medicine. Besides being an under graduate teacher he has supervised and mentored more than fifty post graduate doctors leading to successful completion of FCPS, MD and MRCP. His areas of interests include HIV disease in which he had multiple International Trainings. He is a pioneer in this field and started the HIV Treatment Center at PIMS, the first of its kind in Pakistan. He has consistently supported WHO, UNICEF and NACP Pakistan in development of National HIV guidelines and educational manuals for DHQ Hospitals. He has played an important role in capacity building in the field of HIV by conducting dozens of training workshops for all categories of Health Care Workers, including nurses, paramedics, doctors, post graduate students and consultants all over Pakistan. He has multiple publications to his credit in the subject of HIV.
